6ix9ine is taking his years-long feud with Lil Durk straight into the Chicago rapper’s federal murder-for-hire trial, openly mocking his legal situation and promising to throw a “going-away party” if a jury finds Durk guilty.
The New York rapper made the comments during a phone call with DJ Akademiks as Durk’s closely watched federal trial continued in Los Angeles.
“When this n**** get found guilty, you coming to my party?” 6ix9ine asked Akademiks, according to video of the exchange reported by Complex.
6ix9ine went on to describe the planned event as a “Lil Durk Going Away Party,” continuing to joke about the possibility of Durk receiving a lengthy prison sentence if convicted.
Durk has pleaded not guilty, and at this point in the proceedings no verdict has been reached.
6ix9ine Keeps Coming Up in Durk’s Trial
The trolling comes as 6ix9ine has unexpectedly become a recurring name inside the courtroom despite having no role as a defendant in the case.
During the trial, jurors heard evidence about the online pressure Durk faced following King Von’s November 2020 killing. That included discussion of people publicly telling Durk to “slide for Von,” or retaliate for his friend’s death.
6ix9ine was one of the most prominent rappers publicly taunting Durk over the subject.
That history became relevant as Durk’s attorneys sought to introduce additional footage from his 2023 interview with Akademiks. In that conversation, Durk discussed 6ix9ine trolling him about retaliation and indicated he did not take the comments seriously.
Durk’s defense wanted jurors to see that context as prosecutors attempted to use another portion of the Akademiks interview as evidence supporting their theory of the case.
6ix9ine’s name also appeared in another piece of evidence shown to jurors.
A message from Durk to his manager listed several people Durk said he hated or believed had something against him, including Quando Rondo, NBA YoungBoy, 6ix9ine and “the Feds.”
The appearance of his name in the proceedings only gave 6ix9ine more material to work with online.
A Feud That Goes Back Years
The hostility between 6ix9ine and Durk predates the current federal case.
Their feud intensified following King Von’s death, when 6ix9ine repeatedly antagonized Durk and other Chicago rappers online. His trolling frequently centered on Von’s killing and demands that Durk retaliate—comments that have now resurfaced years later because of the issues being discussed during Durk’s trial.
Durk, meanwhile, has publicly portrayed himself as unwilling to take 6ix9ine’s provocations seriously.
That distinction has become more consequential now that prosecutors and defense attorneys are examining Durk’s past public statements and online interactions before a federal jury.
For 6ix9ine, however, the courtroom attention has apparently become another opportunity to restart the feud.
His proposed Florida “going-away party” is contingent on something that has not happened: Durk being convicted.
Durk remains on trial, has pleaded not guilty and is entitled to the presumption of innocence while the jury considers the government’s allegations.
But outside the courtroom, 6ix9ine is already trolling as though he knows how the case will end—turning one of hip-hop’s most serious ongoing legal battles into the latest chapter of a feud that has now lasted for years.
