Chrisean Rock says Blueface’s repeated claims that he is not the biological father of her son were never really about uncertainty over paternity. According to Rock, the denials came after she began setting boundaries and refusing to return to the volatile relationship dynamic that has followed the former couple for years.
Rock addressed the issue during an Aug. 26 appearance on The Jason Lee Show, where the reality personality and aspiring professional boxer spoke at length about Blueface, motherhood, sobriety and her attempt to move beyond the chaos that helped make their relationship one of the most publicized in reality television and hip-hop. When host Jason Lee pointed out that Rock has consistently maintained that Blueface is Chrisean Jr.’s father despite Blueface repeatedly changing his public position, Rock characterized his denials as the reaction of a man who was hurt.
“He’s hurt,” Rock said during the conversation, later describing Blueface as “a hurt man.” Asked why she believed he had begun denying paternity, Rock replied that it happened because she “wouldn’t come back home,” saying the two had been arguing as she resisted returning to their previous arrangement.
Rock maintained that a paternity test identifying Blueface as her son’s father was legitimate, although she said the results might now be stored on an older phone. She argued that the medical professionals involved would not jeopardize their careers by falsifying a test for reality television. No independently authenticated DNA documentation was presented during the interview, making Rock’s account and Blueface’s competing statements the central public claims surrounding the dispute.
Blueface Has Told a Very Different Story
The paternity dispute has become particularly complicated because Blueface himself has publicly offered changing explanations.
In March, the rapper publicly declared that Chrisean Jr. was not his biological son and referenced Rock’s late former boyfriend Ronny while saying he could no longer continue what he called a “plot.” Rock pushed back against the statement and continued insisting that Blueface was the boy’s biological father.
Then, during his own May appearance on The Jason Lee Show, Blueface offered another explanation for why he had previously presented himself publicly as Chrisean Jr.’s father. When Lee asked why he would claim the child if he believed he was not biologically related to him, Blueface said the public family narrative had been financially beneficial.
“We were making money — it was a good storyline,” Blueface said, adding that the person he claimed was the biological father “didn’t fit the storyline.”
Those comments stand in direct conflict with Rock’s version of events. Blueface portrayed the public fatherhood narrative as something he knowingly participated in for entertainment and financial reasons, while Rock says he really is the child’s father and began denying it after she stopped responding to the relationship in the way he wanted.
The conflicting accounts have kept a deeply personal question about their son at the center of an increasingly public dispute.
Rock Says She Is Trying to Break the Cycle
The paternity discussion was only part of a broader interview in which Rock repeatedly returned to the idea that she is trying to change the direction of her life.
She acknowledged that she and Blueface share a bond that has repeatedly pulled them back toward each other despite years of breakups, arguments, reconciliations and public confrontations. Rock described it as a form of “unconditional love,” but also acknowledged that the relationship does not make sense from the outside and said she no longer wants to continue living inside the same cycle.
“I think we understand each other in a way where we have unconditional love, where it doesn’t make sense at all,” Rock told Lee. Later in the interview, however, she made her current position clearer: “It’s over.”
That tension—acknowledging that she still has love for Blueface while simultaneously trying to separate herself from the relationship—ran throughout the conversation. Rather than presenting the situation as a clean breakup followed by an immediate fresh start, Rock described something considerably messier: an effort to establish boundaries with someone whose life has been intertwined with hers personally, professionally and publicly for years.
The official description for the Aug. 26 episode similarly framed the interview around Rock’s attempt to move beyond that history, highlighting her discussions of boundaries, trauma, motherhood, faith and the difficulty of choosing herself even when she continues to feel pulled toward a relationship she says no longer gives her peace.
Boxing Has Become Part of Her Reinvention
One of the clearest signs of that attempted transition is boxing.
Rock has been training under respected Baltimore boxing coach Calvin Ford and is preparing to compete professionally under the nickname “Holy Hands.” Her professional debut is scheduled for Sept. 19 in Baltimore as part of a BLK Prime card headlined by Lorenzo “Truck” Simpson.
The move is more serious than the occasional celebrity boxing appearance associated with internet personalities. Rock described maintaining a regular training schedule and treating camp as a source of discipline, while BET’s description of the interview noted that she has been training daily with Ford.
For Rock, boxing also provides a radically different structure from the social-media environment that helped build her fame. Training requires routine, conditioning and accountability, while the sport gives her a potential identity separate from being one half of the Chrisean-and-Blueface relationship.
Her transition into boxing comes as she says she has also embraced sobriety and renewed her focus on faith and gospel music. During the interview, Rock presented those changes as interconnected pieces of the same effort to create a more stable life for herself and her son.
Their Relationship Has Played Out in Public for Years
Separating Rock’s career from Blueface is difficult precisely because their relationship became part of the entertainment product surrounding both of them.
Their arguments, reconciliations and personal disputes have repeatedly unfolded on livestreams and social media, while their relationship became central to reality programming including Crazy in Love. The boundaries between private conflict and public entertainment became increasingly difficult to identify as moments from their relationship generated headlines, viral clips and television content.
Blueface’s May acknowledgment that he had participated in a paternity narrative because it made money added another layer to that history. His remarks suggested that at least some aspects of the public story surrounding the couple were viewed through the lens of entertainment and monetization.
Rock’s latest interview attempts to establish a different narrative: that she no longer wants personal chaos to be the foundation of her public identity.
Whether that separation lasts remains an open question. Rock herself acknowledged the strength of the connection that has repeatedly brought the two back into each other’s lives. But she now says she is trying to put boundaries around that relationship rather than allowing it to dictate what happens next.
Their Son Remains at the Center of the Dispute
The most sensitive part of the situation remains Chrisean Jr., who turns three in September.
Rock has consistently identified Blueface as her son’s father and again stood by that position during the Jason Lee interview. Blueface, meanwhile, has publicly denied biological paternity and offered explanations for why he previously presented himself as the child’s father. Without independently authenticated DNA documentation available publicly, Mr. Hella Media cannot independently resolve those competing claims.
What can be established is that the dispute has repeatedly been made public by both parents. Blueface has discussed it in interviews and on social media, while Rock has challenged his denials publicly and now says she believes those denials are connected to the boundaries she established in their relationship.
That distinction matters. Rock’s claim that Blueface denied paternity because she refused to return home is her explanation of his motivation, not an independently proven fact.
Her larger message during the interview, however, extended beyond the paternity argument. Rock said she wants to stop repeating the pattern that has kept her personal life in a constant state of public conflict and redirect her energy toward motherhood, sobriety, faith and boxing.
After years in which Chrisean Rock and Blueface’s relationship often seemed inseparable from their fame, Rock is now saying she wants something different: a life in which the next headline does not have to come from another fight between them.
