Coi Leray is keeping the details of her co-parenting dispute with Trippie Redd largely out of the public eye, but she has confirmed one important development: the situation involving their daughter, Miyoco, is now being handled through the court system.
During a recent appearance on The Jason Lee Show, Leray was asked where things currently stand between her and Trippie after months of public attention surrounding their relationship, breakup and parenting arrangement. Rather than getting into the specifics of any legal proceedings, Coi said the matter was being handled in court and kept her answer brief.
“We reconnected. We’re no longer together,” Leray said while discussing their history. “We had a baby. We moved on with our lives.”
The comments come roughly a month after Trippie publicly suggested that he was being prevented from seeing Miyoco. In an August 12 post on X, Trippie told followers to ask Coi why she allegedly would not allow him to see his daughter, adding the hashtag “#NDA.” He did not publicly provide documentation supporting the allegation or explain the circumstances surrounding the parenting arrangement.
At the time, Coi did not engage with the accusation publicly. Her latest interview still stops short of responding point-by-point to what Trippie alleged, but her confirmation that the matter is being addressed in court provides more context about why she may be avoiding a detailed public back-and-forth.
The tension between the former couple stretches back considerably further.
Coi and Trippie initially dated years ago before eventually reconnecting. During her interview with Jason Lee, Coi explained that although their reunion may have appeared sudden to fans, they had actually been back in contact since around 2021 or 2022. Their renewed relationship eventually became public, and in January 2025 the pair announced they were expecting a child.
That reunion quickly became complicated.
While pregnant, Coi publicly suggested she had been cheated on, writing about the emotional impact of infidelity without initially naming Trippie directly. The situation became one of the defining public stories surrounding their reconciliation, particularly because the couple was preparing to welcome their first child together.
Coi later expressed regret over taking their relationship problems to social media. In a 2025 interview, she explained that she had been pregnant and emotionally vulnerable when she spoke publicly about the alleged infidelity. By that point, she described their relationship as strictly focused on parenting Miyoco rather than rebuilding a friendship.
That history makes her latest approach noticeably different. Instead of litigating the dispute through interviews or social media, Coi is now publicly saying that the parenting matter belongs in court.
Exactly what issues are before the court remains unclear from the publicly reported information. Coi did not disclose the nature of the proceeding, any custody arrangement, visitation schedule or what either side is specifically asking a judge to decide. Trippie’s earlier social-media allegation therefore remains his claim rather than an established finding that Coi improperly prevented him from seeing their daughter.
At the same time, Coi's personal life may be finding its way into her music.
Her new single, “Nothing Into Something,” arrived September 18 as a collaboration with Diplo. Ahead of the release, a teaser attracted attention because Coi referenced looking back at an ex and questioning how that person managed to “blow” the relationship.
Given the highly public nature of her breakup with Trippie, fans immediately began speculating that the lyrics were aimed at him.
Coi, however, has not confirmed that interpretation.
That distinction matters. While the timing and subject matter have encouraged listeners to connect the record to Trippie, there is currently no confirmation from Coi that “Nothing Into Something” is specifically about him. The released song deals more broadly with lost love, personal growth and Coi’s journey from having little to building a successful career.
The single also arrives during a period in which motherhood appears to have changed several of Coi’s personal relationships.
In the same Jason Lee interview, she revealed that she and her father, Benzino, have repaired their famously turbulent relationship. The father and daughter spent years publicly criticizing one another, but Coi said they are now regularly communicating and that Benzino frequently FaceTimes to see his granddaughter.
“Me and my dad are really cool now,” Coi said. “Like I love him so much.”
That reconciliation stands in contrast to the uncertainty surrounding her relationship with Trippie. With her father, Coi appears increasingly willing to discuss how their relationship has improved. With Trippie, she is drawing a much firmer boundary around what she will reveal publicly.
For now, the clearest update is also the simplest: Coi and Trippie are no longer together, they share a daughter, and whatever disagreements currently exist over co-parenting are being addressed through legal channels rather than resolved publicly.
As for whether her newest music tells the rest of the story, fans are already drawing their own conclusions — but Coi has yet to say that the ex referenced in “Nothing Into Something” is Trippie Redd.
