The family of Disney actress Carla Jeffery has launched a GoFundMe to help cover funeral and burial expenses following the Zombies star’s sudden death at the age of 33.
Jeffery, best known to Disney audiences for playing Bree in the Zombies franchise, died Sept. 1. Her longtime management company, Alexanders Talent Management, confirmed her death the following day, remembering the actress as a vibrant performer whose career the agency had watched develop since she was 12 years old.
Now, as her family prepares to lay her to rest, relatives are asking supporters for help with the unexpected financial costs surrounding her death.
Family Launches $5,000 Fundraiser
A GoFundMe established by a relative identified as Carl Jeffery set a $5,000 fundraising goal to assist with Carla’s funeral expenses and burial costs.
“This is an incredibly painful and difficult time for our family,” the fundraiser states, explaining that relatives are trying to grieve while also handling the financial responsibilities associated with her funeral and burial arrangements.
The family said contributions would go directly toward those expenses, allowing Jeffery’s loved ones to concentrate on honoring her life and supporting one another.
The campaign followed an outpouring of tributes from fans and people who worked with Jeffery throughout her career.
Cause of Death Has Not Been Announced
Jeffery died at her California home, according to a family spokesperson.
Her family has pushed back against online speculation surrounding her death, saying there was no suspected foul play, police were not involved and rumors suggesting that her death was drug-related were false.
An official cause and manner of death have not been publicly disclosed.
That distinction is important as speculation continues online: beyond the information provided by Jeffery’s family and representatives, the circumstances surrounding her death remain private.
Remembered by a Generation of Disney Fans
Jeffery built an acting career spanning roughly two decades, beginning as a child performer before eventually becoming widely recognized as Bree, the energetic Seabrook High cheerleader and best friend of Addison in Disney Channel’s Zombies.
She appeared as Bree in Zombies in 2018, returned for Zombies 2 in 2020 and Zombies 3 in 2022, and later continued portraying the character as a voice actor in Zombies: The Re-Animated Series.
Her career stretched well beyond the franchise.
Jeffery appeared in television series including Curb Your Enthusiasm, Southland, iCarly, Good Luck Charlie, Shake It Up!, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and American Vandal. She began acting at 12, appearing alongside Mo’Nique in the 2006 comedy Phat Girlz.
She was also the twin sister of actor Carlon Jeffery, known to Disney Channel audiences for his role on A.N.T. Farm.
For younger audiences, however, Bree became Jeffery’s defining role. Her performances across the Zombies movies and animated series made her part of a Disney franchise that followed an entire generation of viewers through multiple films.
Following her death, Jeffery’s family is now focused on bringing her home to rest while fans and former colleagues continue remembering the actress whose career began when she was still a child.
She was 33.
