The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards are adding even more star power ahead of the September 27 ceremony, with Gunna, LISA, RAYE and Shaboozey among the latest artists confirmed to take the stage.

CBS and MTV announced the new group of performers on September 17, adding GENER8ION, Gunna, LISA, RAYE, Shaboozey, SIENNA SPIRO and Yung Lean to an already packed show. The newly announced acts will join Madonna, who is scheduled to open the ceremony.

The additions bring together hip-hop, K-pop, R&B, country and international pop as MTV continues building out one of its biggest nights of the year.

For Gunna, the VMAs appearance puts the Atlanta rapper on one of music's biggest televised stages. He is scheduled to join Shaboozey for a performance during the ceremony, according to the official announcement. Shaboozey is also set to have his own performance during the show.

Shaboozey's appearance follows his continued crossover success between country, hip-hop and pop. His presence alongside Gunna gives the VMAs another genre-blending moment, something the ceremony has historically leaned into with collaborations that might not normally appear together on the same stage.

LISA is also joining the performance lineup, extending her presence at the VMAs as both a solo artist and one of BLACKPINK's biggest global stars. Her addition gives the ceremony another major international draw as MTV continues highlighting K-pop alongside its traditional pop, hip-hop and rock categories.

British singer-songwriter RAYE will take the stage as well. Her appearance comes as her international profile continues to grow, adding another major awards-show performance to a career that has expanded well beyond the U.K.

The newly announced lineup also includes rising British singer Sienna Spiro, while French electronic project GENER8ION will perform with Swedish rapper Yung Lean.

Madonna Is Opening the Show

While the latest announcement expands the performer list, one of the night's biggest moments is already scheduled for the beginning of the broadcast.

Madonna will open the 2026 VMAs, bringing one of the artists most closely associated with the history of MTV back to the awards-show stage.

Her relationship with the VMAs stretches back to the show's earliest years. Madonna's performances have produced several of the ceremony's defining pop-culture moments, making her return as the 2026 opener particularly notable.

The expanded lineup now puts established superstars alongside artists experiencing some of the biggest moments of their careers.

Snoop Dogg Is Hosting the 2026 VMAs

The ceremony will be hosted by Snoop Dogg, giving this year's show another major hip-hop presence beyond its performers.

The VMAs are scheduled for Sunday, September 27, beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT. The ceremony will air on CBS, simulcast on MTV and stream for Paramount+ Premium subscribers in the United States.

The awards will also recognize music released across a wide range of genres, with categories including Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Collaboration, Best Pop, Best Hip-Hop, Best R&B, Best K-Pop, Best Country and several technical categories.

With less than two weeks remaining before the ceremony, the September 17 announcement significantly expands the number of artists viewers can expect to see perform.

And MTV may not necessarily be finished building anticipation before show night.

For now, the confirmed additions are substantial on their own: Gunna, LISA, RAYE, Shaboozey, Sienna Spiro, GENER8ION and Yung Lean are all headed to the 2026 VMAs stage on September 27.
