LeBron James and Jeff Bezos Caught Living It Up in Cannes

Le Guerite. Water behind the post. Linen and a striped bucket hat. Savannah in sunglasses with a glass. Two tables that do not need a reservation app.

The photos are the lifestyle caption. The clip that traveled with them is the needle drop. Kendrick’s “Not Like Us” on the speakers. Savannah on “a minor.” Camera pans. Bezos is recording Sanchez dancing. Maverick Carter in the mix. Jay and Bey have used this same club. So has everybody with a yacht and a publicist.

That is the collision the comments wanted. King James, still a Laker when the stills hit, sitting in the same zip code as the man who owns the store that sells everything. No deal announced. No press release. Just proximity and a diss track that will not leave the summer.

Drake fans treated the song choice like a vote. It is a DJ reading a room on the Côte d’Azur. Rooms that expensive play whatever is loud. The internet still filed it under “even Bezos.”

Cannes in festival season is a content farm that happens to have a film slate. Athletes, founders, spouses, glasses of white wine, a straw hat in the foreground of the pap shot. Living it up is the job description. Getting photographed doing it is the tax.

The split graphic is LeBron pointing at the water, Bezos laughing in the aviators. Two men who do not share a sport and share a tax bracket. The song in the background is the punchline nobody at the table had to write. The headline only needed the names and the city.
