Nevaeh Akira’s response to her increasingly public breakup with Blueface has unfolded almost entirely in front of an online audience, with the mother of the rapper’s newborn son moving from tears and apologies to talk of moving on—and, most recently, a far more defiant message about her ex.
The relationship unraveled publicly on Sept. 8 when Blueface told Nevaeh during a livestream that he was finished with their relationship, weeks after the couple welcomed their son.
Nevaeh was visibly emotional as Blueface told her the relationship was over and that she could remain at his home long enough to gather her belongings.
But what followed has been less straightforward.
Over the days since the breakup, Nevaeh has repeatedly discussed Blueface on livestreams and social media, at times appearing hopeful that the relationship could still be repaired while at other moments presenting herself as ready to move forward without him.
Nevaeh Initially Apologized
The breakup followed Blueface discovering that a portrait tattoo Nevaeh had previously told him depicted his face was actually a portrait of NBA YoungBoy.
Nevaeh acknowledged misleading him about the tattoo.
Blueface, however, said his decision was about more than the image itself.
“It’s not about the tattoo, it’s not about you lying about the tattoo,” Blueface said during the breakup. “It’s about your reaction to me finding out about something.”
He accused Nevaeh of deliberately trying to convince him of something that was not true.
Shortly after the split, Nevaeh struck an apologetic tone.
She said she had made a “bad decision” because she was afraid of disappointing Blueface and ended up making the situation worse.
“Despite my deception, I hope we can eventually find a way to remain friends and build a healthy co-parenting relationship for our baby,” Nevaeh wrote.
She added that she wished Blueface “love, peace, happiness, and everything good in life,” while saying she never intended to hurt him.
At another point, however, Nevaeh announced she was single and described the end of the relationship in much harsher terms.
“I’m set free,” she wrote in a post circulated online, describing the relationship as a “long traumatic headache” filled with negativity.
The contrasting statements became an early indication of how complicated the breakup would become publicly.
She Continued Trying to Explain the Tattoo
Nevaeh subsequently returned to the tattoo controversy during livestreams.
She showed viewers where the NBA YoungBoy portrait had previously been on her leg and said she lied to Blueface because she cared about him and believed telling him the truth would hurt him.
She also expressed the belief that Blueface still loved her, suggesting that, at least from her perspective, the relationship might not have been completely beyond repair.
That did not appear to change Blueface’s position.
Another publicly circulated conversation between the pair several days later showed Nevaeh continuing to explain herself while Blueface maintained that he was finished with the relationship. Chrisean Rock, another of Blueface’s former partners and the mother of one of his children, was also brought into the conversation.
The exchanges have created a breakup playing out less like a single announcement and more like an ongoing livestream saga.
Nevaeh has alternated between acknowledging the relationship is over, explaining the decisions that led to the split and leaving open the emotional possibility that Blueface still has feelings for her.
Blueface, publicly, has sounded considerably more definitive.
Nevaeh Begins Talking About Life Without Blueface
By Sept. 12, Nevaeh’s public comments began shifting again.
She said she could not continue trying to repair the relationship if the love was no longer there.
Nevaeh also acknowledged that she believed she had loved Blueface too much without giving herself the same level of love.
Then she began discussing a much larger potential change.
Nevaeh said that once their son, Johnathan Jr., reaches three months old, she would like to leave the United States and live abroad.
She noted that taking their son with her would involve obtaining a passport and said Blueface would need to sign the necessary paperwork. Her comments reflected a future possibility she was considering, not a confirmed relocation plan.
It represented a noticeable change from the woman who had been crying during the original breakup livestream days earlier.
Instead of focusing entirely on convincing Blueface to reconsider, Nevaeh was beginning to publicly discuss what her own life with their son could look like if the relationship really was finished.
‘He’s Not the Prize’
The tone became even more defensive this week.
A since-deleted social-media post attributed to Nevaeh circulated online after Blueface continued discussing their disputes, including the NBA YoungBoy tattoo situation.
In the post, Nevaeh reportedly pushed back against the attention surrounding Blueface and declared that he is “not the prize.”
Because the post was deleted, the statement is best treated as an attributed social-media reaction rather than a permanent formal statement from Nevaeh.
Still, it fits a broader change in her public posture.
Immediately after the breakup, Nevaeh was apologizing.
Days later, she was still explaining herself and suggesting Blueface loved her.
Then she began talking about accepting that she could not continue fighting for a relationship if the feelings were no longer mutual.
Now, her rhetoric has become considerably more confrontational.
A Breakup Playing Out in Real Time
What makes Blueface and Nevaeh’s split unusual is not simply the circumstances surrounding the NBA YoungBoy tattoo.
Nearly every stage of the breakup has been made public.
The confrontation was streamed.
Nevaeh’s tears were streamed.
Her explanations were streamed.
Blueface’s responses were streamed.
And their subsequent conversations have continued circulating across social media, giving viewers an unusually close—and fragmented—look at a relationship deteriorating in real time.
That also means individual clips do not necessarily tell the entire story.
Nevaeh has sounded devastated, apologetic, hopeful, resigned and defensive at different moments since Blueface announced the breakup.
Those reactions are not necessarily mutually exclusive.
They show how quickly her public position has changed as the reality of the split has unfolded.
For now, Blueface continues to publicly present the relationship as finished.
Nevaeh, after initially trying to repair the damage, increasingly appears to be talking about what comes next.
And if her latest reported message is any indication, the tone has changed dramatically from pleading for another chance.
Blueface, she says, is “not the prize.”
