Rashee Rice Ordered to 30 Days in Jail for Violating Probation, Tested Positive for THC
Dallas County, May 19, 2026. Booked 12:25 p.m. Release listed June 16.
Last July he pleaded guilty to two third-degree felonies from a March 2024 crash on North Central Expressway: collision involving serious bodily injury, racing on a highway causing bodily injury. Prosecutors said a Lamborghini Urus at 119 mph, aggressive moves through traffic, contact with other cars, no welfare check, left on foot. People were hurt.
The deal: five years deferred probation and 30 days in jail as a condition, with flexibility on when to serve it. That flexibility ended when a probation test came back positive for THC. The court log called it a violation and converted the hanging 30 days into an immediate report date.
This is not a new trial on the wreck. It is the sentence that was already on the paper, triggered by the test. Marijuana is legal in some states and not a free pass on a Texas felony probation order.
The NFL had already sat him six games last season over the driving case. The Chiefs said they were aware, in touch with the league, no further comment. Voluntary OTAs and mandatory minicamp sit inside the jail window. Training camp was the next checkpoint in the coverage; a separate note said recent right-knee surgery with a camp target.
Rice is 26, Chiefs wideout, number 4. The podium photo is a different season. The docket is Dallas. Thirty days is short next to five years of supervision and a highway that still has victims on it. It is long enough to miss the spring building block of an NFL calendar.
Probation means the test is the job. He failed one. The judge used the days that were already reserved. That is the whole order.
