Tory Lanez is technically going on tour — without actually leaving prison.

The incarcerated rapper and singer has announced the Not On “Tor” Tour, an unusual five-city run of official listening experiences scheduled to begin September 25 in New York City. Despite the name, these will not be traditional Tory Lanez concerts: Lanez will not physically appear or perform at the events while he continues serving his prison sentence in California.

Instead, the concept brings Lanez’s music and fan community into venues while the artist himself remains behind bars. The official ticket page for the New York stop describes the event as a multi-city series featuring DJ sets, special guests and music from Lanez’s latest album alongside some of the biggest records from his catalog. Organizers explicitly warn ticket buyers that Lanez “will not be appearing or performing” at the event.

The Not On “Tor” Tour is currently scheduled to hit five U.S. cities. It begins at HK Hall in New York on September 25 before heading to Los Angeles on October 15, Washington, D.C. on October 22, New Orleans on November 12 and Pittsburgh on November 13. Montreal and Toronto have also been teased, although dates for those cities have not yet been announced.

The rollout turns Lanez’s incarceration into part of the tour’s branding. Rather than presenting the events as conventional shows, the announcement frames them as listening experiences built around his music, DJs, guests and the fans who have continued following his career.

Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, remains incarcerated while serving a 10-year sentence stemming from the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. He was convicted in December 2022 on three felony charges and sentenced in August 2023.

His imprisonment, however, has not completely stopped his music career. Lanez has continued releasing material while incarcerated, and the new listening-event concept gives his team another way to bring that music directly to audiences despite the obvious limitation of him being unable to take the stage himself.

For fans attending the first stop in New York, the distinction is particularly important: this is an official Tory Lanez event, but it is not a Tory Lanez performance. The September 25 event is scheduled for HK Hall in Manhattan and is advertised as an official “Tory Lanez Listening Party & Experience,” with music, DJs and special guests carrying the night in his absence.

It makes the Not On “Tor” Tour exactly what its name suggests: Tory Lanez’s music is going on the road, even if Tory Lanez himself cannot.
