Pooh Shiesty will stay in federal custody after a Texas judge again denied his request for bond in the case alleging he helped kidnap and rob Gucci Mane.

The Memphis rapper, whose legal name is Lontrell Williams Jr., is one of nine men charged in connection with a January 10, 2026 incident at a Dallas recording studio. Prosecutors say he set up a meeting with Gucci Mane, whose legal name is Radric Davis, under the pretense of talking business about his 1017 Records contract. Once inside, they allege Williams pulled an AK-style pistol, forced Davis to sign a release from the label at gunpoint, and then robbed him and others of jewelry, watches, cash, and other items valued at about $450,000.

Williams was already on home confinement from a prior federal firearms case when the alleged robbery happened. That history has been a major reason judges have refused to let him out. A magistrate judge first denied bond on April 8. Later requests were also rejected, including a July 21 ruling by U.S. District Judge David C. Godbey. Prosecutors argued no set of conditions — GPS, private security, or house arrest — would protect the public or the alleged victims.

His father, Lontrell Williams Sr., and fellow Memphis rapper Big30 (Rodney Wright Jr.) have been granted pretrial release. Williams has not.

All nine defendants have pleaded not guilty. The trial was pushed from July 2026 to February 22, 2027 because of the size of the case. If convicted on the kidnapping counts, Williams faces a possible life sentence.

His lawyers have called the government’s evidence incomplete and said he should be allowed to prepare his defense from home. Prosecutors have pointed to victim statements, cellphone data, surveillance placing the group at the studio, and later-filed video stills they say show the confrontation.

Williams remains held pending trial.
