DJ Akademiks has once again turned his attention to Lil Baby, going off on the Atlanta rapper during his latest livestream as one of hip-hop’s longest-running media feuds continues.

Clips from Akademiks’ broadcasts have repeatedly become flashpoints in his years-long dispute with Lil Baby, with the media personality criticizing everything from Baby’s music and commercial performance to his standing within Atlanta’s rap scene.

The latest livestream appears to represent another chapter in that feud rather than the beginning of a new dispute.

Akademiks and Lil Baby have traded public shots for years, and their tension escalated considerably in early 2026 after Akademiks claimed someone associated with Baby confronted and slapped him in Miami. Akademiks subsequently launched a series of attacks against the rapper online and during his broadcasts.

Their Feud Has Become Increasingly Personal

The conflict between the two has moved well beyond ordinary criticism from a media personality.

Akademiks has repeatedly insulted Lil Baby during livestreams, while Baby has responded publicly to Akademiks and even entertained the possibility of settling their differences in a boxing match.

Earlier this year, Akademiks challenged Baby to fight, and Baby publicly indicated he was willing to accept.

Akademiks has continued taking shots at Baby since then.

In September, he used online ticket listings surrounding Fall Fest in Sunrise, Florida, as another opportunity to mock the rapper, invoking Gunna while questioning Baby’s drawing power. The available ticket listings did not establish the event’s final attendance, making Akademiks’ comments part of the feud rather than an independently verified measure of Baby’s popularity.

That Gunna comparison has surfaced repeatedly because Lil Baby publicly distanced himself from his former collaborator following Gunna’s plea deal in the YSL case, while Gunna has continued releasing commercially successful music.

Akademiks Has Also Discussed Baby’s Support for Lil Durk

Despite his criticism of Lil Baby, Akademiks has also recently discussed the rapper in connection with Lil Durk’s federal murder-for-hire case.

Akademiks claimed that Lil Baby was among several major artists who contributed money toward Durk’s legal defense, alongside Drake, Ye and 21 Savage. XXL subsequently reported Akademiks’ claim, though the precise financial arrangements were not independently disclosed.

The claim put Baby into a broader conversation surrounding Atlanta and Chicago rap relationships at a time when Akademiks was devoting hours of his broadcasts to Durk’s federal trial.

But Akademiks’ commentary about Lil Baby should still be separated from established facts about any criminal investigation or legal exposure.

Unless Akademiks identifies a specific case, filing or law-enforcement action—and that information can be independently verified—his livestream statements should be presented as commentary or allegations rather than evidence that Lil Baby is facing new legal trouble.

Another Chapter in a Feud That Refuses to Die

What once looked like a conventional rapper-versus-media-personality dispute has now stretched across multiple years, albums, livestreams and personal confrontations.

Akademiks has repeatedly argued that Lil Baby's position in hip-hop has declined from the extraordinary commercial run that made him one of rap's biggest stars at the beginning of the decade.

Lil Baby and people around him have pushed back against Akademiks' commentary, and the conflict has occasionally become personal enough that the two sides have discussed physically fighting one another.

The latest livestream shows that the dispute remains very much alive.

For now, however, the clearest story is not that Akademiks revealed a new legal development involving Lil Baby. It is that Akademiks has once again publicly unloaded on a rapper with whom he has maintained one of his most persistent feuds.
