Drake Shares Old First Reactions to “Take Care” via IG Story: “I Think His Album Was Weak, Repetitive, Boring at Times… Nothing New, Nothing Exciting

I think his album was weak, repetitive, boring at times. Nothing new, nothing exciting. Same ole same ole. Blah.

Another: lost some respect with this one. Another: too much singing.

Take Care came out November 2011. It is now the album people use as the measuring stick when they say he used to be good. Marvins Room. Headlines. The Motto. Take Care with Rihanna. The 40 blanket. A classic in the rearview. In the week it landed, a comment section called it blah.

He posted a similar graveyard in October 2023 when For All the Dogs was catching the same weather. The move is not subtle. You hated this one too. This one became the bible.

ICEMAN week had Marlon on stream saying nothing stuck, Pitchfork filing the empty-VIP review, and 140 million Spotify streams in a day anyway. The Story is him answering the first group with a 15-year-old thread. Time is the rebuttal. Sales are the other one.

It also reads as thin-skinned. A man with 15 No. 1 albums still keeping PDFs of “blah.” Both things can sit. The comments were real. The album outlived them. He wants ICEMAN to get the same courtesy before the week is over.

The photo is the blue satins, gold, glasses, red Ferrari in a driveway, looking down at the phone. The phone is the plot. He is reading the past to argue with the present. Take Care won that argument years ago. He is entering ICEMAN into the same exhibit. The jury this time is still in the comments. He already knows how that room voted in 2011.
