Judge Sentences Alicia Andrews to 15 Years in Florida State Prison in the Julio Foolio Case
Hillsborough County. Friday, May 22, 2026. Judge Fernandez. Fifteen years — the cap on the manslaughter count the October 2025 jury chose instead of first-degree murder.
Alicia Andrews, 23. Prosecutors said she helped track Charles Andrew Jones II — Julio Foolio — through Tampa clubs on his 26th birthday weekend in June 2024 until the Holiday Inn near USF. Jones was killed. Three other people were wounded. The four men tried apart — Isaiah Chance, Sean Gathright, Davion Murphy, Rashad Murphy — took first-degree murder and attempted murder and life without parole a week earlier. She was not in that box. Her jury stopped at manslaughter.
Defense asked for something short of the max: no prior convictions. She did not speak. Counsel said another appeal is coming; they had already knocked the original trial judge, Michelle Sisco, off the case after arguing hostility from the bench. Sentencing had slipped from December to May while that fight played. The state asked for fifteen. Fernandez agreed. Court TV noted she appeared to smile. Jones’s mother, Sandrikas Mays, was in the room. Court TV’s headline quote from the family side: he was not disposable.
A lesser included is not an acquittal. It is a finding that the state did not prove the higher intent to the twelve people in that box, and did prove enough for manslaughter. Fifteen years is still a long time in a Florida prison. It is not life. The four life sentences are the other half of the same night.
Foolio’s catalog and the Jacksonville feud that followed him to Tampa are a different article. This one is a young woman who the state said rode along and pointed, a jury that would not say murder one, and a judge who used every year the lesser count allowed. Appeals can still move the number. They cannot move Jones.
