New Evidence Presented in Yella Beezy’s MO3 Murder Trial as Surveillance Footage, Firearms and Witness Testimony Take Center Stage

New evidence presented in Yella Beezy’s capital murder trial is providing jurors with a more detailed account of the investigation into the 2020 killing of Dallas rapper MO3, as prosecutors attempt to establish that the shooting was part of an orchestrated murder-for-hire plot.

During Wednesday’s proceedings at a Dallas County courthouse, investigators introduced surveillance footage, crime scene photographs, firearms, cellphone evidence and details from multiple searches conducted after MO3 was fatally shot on Interstate 35E in November 2020.

The testimony marked the second day of evidence presentation in the trial of Yella Beezy, whose legal name is Markies Conway. Prosecutors allege that Conway arranged for Kewon White to kill MO3, born Melvin Noble, following years of tension between the Dallas rappers.

Conway has pleaded not guilty to capital murder and denies involvement in the killing.

The latest testimony included several potentially significant developments, including surveillance footage showing vehicles traveling near MO3’s girlfriend’s apartment before the shooting, evidence recovered from residences connected to the investigation and the discovery of a concealed handgun inside MO3’s vehicle nearly three years after his death.

While the evidence provides additional insight into how investigators reconstructed the shooting, prosecutors must still establish whether it connects Conway personally to the alleged murder-for-hire arrangement. FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth +1

Surveillance Footage Shows Two Vehicles Traveling Before MO3’s Killing

One of Wednesday’s most closely watched developments involved surveillance video showing MO3’s gold Honda Accord traveling along West Ledbetter Drive near Interstate 35 shortly before the deadly ambush.

Jurors saw footage of a black Chevrolet Camaro traveling in the same direction approximately 40 seconds later.

Investigators also presented footage collected from an apartment complex where MO3 had spent time with his girlfriend, Jocylynn Jackson, before his death.

Vanessa Armenta, a former neighbor who lived above Jackson at the Arroyo Apartments, testified about surveillance footage recorded from her apartment overlooking the parking lot.

She identified a black Camaro parked across the street before it eventually drove away.

Additional footage showed Jackson outside the apartment following the events surrounding the shooting.

The recordings are important because prosecutors are attempting to reconstruct MO3’s movements before the ambush and determine whether anyone followed him after he left the apartment.

However, the appearance of the vehicles in surveillance footage does not independently establish who was driving them or whether Conway directed their movements.

Those connections remain matters for prosecutors to prove through additional testimony and evidence. FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth

Investigators Reveal Nearly $18,000 Was Found Inside MO3’s Vehicle

Dallas Police Crime Scene Supervisor Justin O’Donnell testified about the examination of MO3’s gold Honda Accord after investigators transported it to a police impound facility.

The vehicle showed extensive damage from gunfire, including bullet strikes to the driver’s side door.

During the initial search, investigators recovered jewelry, personal belongings and approximately $17,960 in cash. The money was found in several locations, including a backpack, clothing pockets and the vehicle’s floorboards.

Police also documented MO3’s driver’s license and other items inside the car.

The testimony provided jurors with a detailed picture of the vehicle’s condition after the shooting and the evidence available to investigators.

O’Donnell acknowledged that officers did not discover a firearm during their initial search of the Honda, although another search years later would produce a significant finding.

The cash and jewelry were entered into the investigation’s broader evidence record, but their presence does not by itself establish a motive for the killing or connect Conway to the shooting. FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth

Hidden Glock Discovered in MO3’s Car Nearly Three Years After Shooting

One of the most surprising details presented Wednesday came from Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Special Agent Derek Wright.

Wright testified that federal and local investigators conducted another search of MO3’s Honda on October 18, 2023, nearly three years after the rapper’s death.

During that search, an explosives-detection dog named Chewbacca alerted investigators to an area near the vehicle’s front passenger seat.

Officers subsequently discovered a concealed Glock pistol.

Wright testified that the weapon had been deliberately hidden and was not readily accessible.

The discovery raises questions about why the firearm was not located during the initial examination in 2020, when investigators documented the car’s interior and recovered other belongings.

Prosecutors introduced photographs of the handgun and vehicle into evidence. Wright also explained how investigators use the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network, or NIBIN, to examine potential connections between firearms and cartridge cases recovered from crime scenes.

The testimony did not establish that the concealed Glock was used in MO3’s killing. FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth

Police Introduce Rifles, Ammunition and Evidence Recovered From Dallas Homes

Wednesday’s proceedings also focused on searches conducted at two Dallas residences connected to the investigation.

Detective Seth Rosenberg testified about evidence recovered from a home on Ramona Avenue, including two semiautomatic rifles and high-capacity drum magazines.

Prosecutors introduced the firearms into evidence over objections from the defense.

Conway’s attorneys argued that displaying the weapons was unnecessarily prejudicial and repetitive. Prosecutors responded that a ballistics expert would later connect the recovered firearms to evidence from the shooting scene and MO3’s autopsy.

That proposed connection had not yet been established through the expert testimony described in Wednesday’s reporting.

Investigators also recovered suspected narcotics, electronic equipment and other items during the searches.

At a separate residence on Britton Avenue, Dallas Police Officer Scott Bazan described finding firearms, a concealed digital video recorder and cellphones associated with co-defendants White and Devin Brown.

The defense questioned Bazan about evidence suggesting that the property was used for drug-related activity, including surveillance monitors, security barriers and suspected controlled substances.

That line of questioning appeared consistent with the defense’s broader effort to establish that investigators may have overlooked alternative explanations and potential motives. FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth

Defense Introduces Photographs Not Shown During Gunman’s Earlier Trial

Conway’s attorneys also presented photographs of two children holding stacks of cash while wearing jewelry resembling chains referenced in evidence recovered from the Britton Avenue property.

According to FOX 4, the photographs had not been shown during White’s capital murder trial in September.

The defense used the images while questioning investigators about the property and items associated with people connected to the case.

Prosecutors countered that investigators had not recovered the large stacks of cash or expensive chains depicted in the photographs during their search of the residence.

The competing arguments illustrate how both sides are attempting to influence the jury’s interpretation of evidence that does not necessarily point directly to Conway.

For prosecutors, the broader investigation is intended to establish how the alleged plot developed and who participated.

For the defense, inconsistencies and alternative explanations could create reasonable doubt about whether Conway arranged the killing.

Doctor Describes Facing Gunfire Before Trying to Save MO3

Another emotional moment came when Dallas neurosurgeon Dr. Randall Graham described witnessing the shooting while driving along Interstate 35.

Graham testified that traffic had slowed because of construction when he saw a man running near his vehicle. Moments later, gunfire struck his windshield, sending glass and fragments into his neck.

He described seeing a masked gunman carrying a rifle and firing near his car.

Graham told jurors that he feared he might be killed.

Despite being injured himself, he later approached MO3, who had collapsed on the highway, and began performing CPR.

According to his testimony, he continued chest compressions for approximately 25 minutes until emergency personnel arrived.

MO3 ultimately died from his injuries.

Graham’s account provided jurors with a firsthand description of the shooting’s violence and the danger faced by motorists who happened to be traveling on the highway that morning.

His testimony helps establish the circumstances of the killing, but it does not independently identify Conway as the person who allegedly arranged it. CBS Texas +1

MO3’s Girlfriend Previously Testified About Suspicious Calls Before the Killing

Wednesday’s evidence followed testimony Tuesday from Jocylynn Jackson, who was dating MO3 at the time of his death.

Jackson told jurors that MO3 spent the night at her apartment on November 10, 2020, after returning from California.

The following morning, her young son unexpectedly asked whether he could visit his father, Devin Brown, who is separately charged in connection with MO3’s killing.

Jackson testified that she later learned Brown had repeatedly called the child to ask whether MO3 was at the apartment.

Cellphone records presented in court supported the account of repeated calls.

Jackson said she became suspicious after learning about the calls because relatively few people knew where she lived.

She confronted Brown, who denied involvement.

During cross-examination, Conway’s defense attorneys focused on Brown’s personal history with Jackson, including previous disputes and a social media video involving MO3 and Jackson’s children.

The defense has suggested that Brown may have had a separate personal motive involving MO3.

Brown has been charged with capital murder, but his guilt has not been determined. FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth

Prosecutors Still Must Connect Yella Beezy to the Alleged Murder-for-Hire Plot

The central question in Conway’s trial is not whether MO3 was murdered or whether White participated in the shooting.

White was convicted of capital murder in September 2026 and sentenced to life in prison.

The question now is whether prosecutors can prove that Conway hired or otherwise arranged for White to carry out the killing.

During opening statements Tuesday, prosecutor Tommy Adams told jurors that the state’s case would involve surveillance footage, travel records, text messages and financial evidence.

Defense attorney Toby Shook challenged that theory, arguing that investigators had developed a narrow focus on Conway while failing to adequately consider other possible motives.

Shook also questioned the alleged financial connection between Conway and White, pointing to differences between the denominations of money withdrawn by Conway and the cash recovered from White.

Those arguments are expected to become increasingly important as prosecutors move beyond reconstructing the crime scene and begin presenting evidence concerning the alleged arrangement itself.

Notably, CBS Texas reported Wednesday afternoon that prosecutors had not yet presented evidence directly linking Conway to the crime during the testimony heard up to that point.

That does not mean the prosecution lacks such evidence. It means the jury had not yet heard the evidence necessary to establish the alleged connection as of Wednesday’s proceedings. FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth +1

Trial Continues Thursday With More Witnesses Expected

Testimony concluded Wednesday afternoon, with proceedings scheduled to resume Thursday, October 29, at approximately 9 a.m. Central Time.

Additional witnesses are expected as prosecutors continue presenting their case.

The trial is anticipated to last approximately two weeks, although the schedule could change depending on the number of witnesses and legal disputes that arise.

If convicted of capital murder, Conway could face life imprisonment.

For MO3’s family and supporters, the proceedings represent another major step in the effort to determine who was responsible for the rapper’s death nearly six years ago.

For Conway, the stakes are equally significant. He remains presumed innocent, and the prosecution must prove its allegations beyond a reasonable doubt.

Wednesday’s testimony gave jurors a detailed look at the physical evidence, surveillance recordings and investigative work surrounding the killing. But the most consequential question remains unanswered: whether that evidence, together with testimony still to come, will establish that Yella Beezy orchestrated the attack.

As of October 29, 2026, Conway’s capital murder trial is ongoing. No verdict has been reached, and the allegations that he arranged MO3’s killing remain unproven.
