The case is closed enough. March 2025: a South Florida jury convicted Janice Turner and Kisean Paul Anderson — Sean Kingston — of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and four counts of wire fraud. Prosecutors said April 2023 to March 2024 they used celebrity and paperwork to take more than a million dollars in goods vendors thought were paid for: watches, a hardened Escalade, a wall-sized LED, flights, jewelry, even house rent. About $1.1 million still missing when the Sun Sentinel wrote the sentencing. Some vendors did get paid. The scheme, in the government’s telling, was fake proof that money had moved.

She cried at the lectern. Keep my son afloat in a hard industry. They used him. Mercy for both of us. Guidelines sat 63–78 months. Her lawyer asked 30. The government wanted more than eight years. Leibowitz landed on 60 months plus three years’ supervision, and said the number would have been lower if she had not testified that the receipts were only to buy time. He called the conduct wanton lies plus the leverage of a famous last name. Restitution hearing was set for that October.

Kingston drew 42 months in August 2025. Both noticed an appeal. June 11, 2026, the Eleventh Circuit granted their motion to dismiss it. The convictions and the time stand.

A prison photo is not a filing. It is proof of geography. Five years for a first-time-adjacent defendant in a white-collar case is the middle of the book, not the cover. Beautiful Girls paid for a long time. It did not pay for an Escalade that was never wired. The group smile does not commute anything. The dropped appeal is the last legal sentence until supervised release starts.
