Quavo is officially entering his next solo era with Pharrell Williams behind the boards.
The Atlanta rapper has announced his new album, QRÖMELIFE, will arrive Oct. 2 through Quality Control and Motown, with Pharrell serving as executive producer. The project will mark Quavo's first full-length solo album since Rocket Power in 2023.
The announcement arrives alongside “Backwards,” a new collaboration with fellow Atlanta rap veteran T.I. Pharrell produced the record, bringing together three artists whose careers represent different chapters of the city's enormous influence on hip-hop.
Quavo and Pharrell Make It Official
The Quavo-Pharrell partnership has been developing publicly for months rather than appearing out of nowhere.
Quavo began previewing the album earlier this year with “HAAVIN,” a Pharrell-produced record introduced in connection with Louis Vuitton's Spring-Summer 2027 men's presentation in Paris. He followed it with “Trance (Walk It Down)” before releasing “Backwards” as another preview of the album.
Quavo's official website now prominently lists QRÖMELIFE for Oct. 2, confirming the release date as the campaign moves into its final stretch. Apple Music currently lists the project as a 14-song album.
Pharrell's role as executive producer makes the project particularly notable. While Quavo has spent years working with some of hip-hop's biggest producers, QRÖMELIFE places one of the most influential producers of the past several decades in a central creative role for an entire Quavo solo project.
The album also continues Quavo's attempt to establish the next phase of his career following the death of his nephew and Migos groupmate Takeoff in 2022.
His previous solo album, Rocket Power, was deeply connected to that loss. QRÖMELIFE appears positioned as a new chapter, with Pharrell helping shape the sound and presentation surrounding the project.
T.I. Joins Quavo on ‘Backwards’
For the latest single, Quavo stayed close to home.
“Backwards” pairs him with T.I., putting two generations of Atlanta rap on the same record while Pharrell handles production. The song was released Sept. 11 alongside the album announcement.
Its accompanying video leans heavily into Atlanta imagery and hometown identity. Directed by Supo Supreme and executive produced by Daps, the visual features Quavo and T.I. performing against an Atlanta-inspired backdrop while incorporating reverse-motion effects that play off the song's title.
The collaboration is also a reminder of how dramatically Atlanta's rap landscape evolved between T.I.'s rise and the Migos era.
T.I. was among the artists who helped push Atlanta's trap sound into mainstream hip-hop during the 2000s. Migos emerged during the following decade and became one of the most influential rap groups of its generation, with Quavo, Offset and Takeoff helping reshape the rhythmic style heard throughout mainstream rap.
Now Quavo is simultaneously looking forward with Pharrell and back toward the group that made him a star.
One More Migos Album Is Also in the Works
QRÖMELIFE may not be the only major Quavo project on the horizon.
Quavo recently confirmed plans to reunite musically with Offset for one more Migos album following Takeoff's death.
During an Atlanta radio interview, Quavo said the remaining members intend to return for another project and eventually tour behind it. No album title, tracklist or release date has been announced.
Any new Migos project would carry enormous significance because it would be the group's first album following Takeoff's death in November 2022.
Quavo and Offset went through a highly publicized period of tension around the end of the original Migos run, but the two eventually reconciled. A final project would give them an opportunity to revisit the group's legacy while honoring the third member who helped build it.
For now, however, Quavo's immediate focus is QRÖMELIFE.
The album arrives Oct. 2, Pharrell Williams is steering the project as executive producer, and “Backwards” with T.I. is already out.
After months of studio footage and hints surrounding the collaboration, Quavo and Pharrell have finally put a date on it.
