Remy Ma and Papoose still aren't officially divorced, and the increasingly public battle surrounding their split has spilled into another round of social-media warfare involving Claressa Shields.

Ahead of a Sept. 11 divorce hearing, Remy publicly challenged her estranged husband to “prove” his love for Shields by signing the papers and bringing their marriage to an end.

“Court TOMORROW 9:30am,” Remy wrote in a social-media post before directly addressing Papoose: “Ayo Pap prove ya luv.” She accompanied the message with paperwork and pen emojis while making it clear she wanted the divorce finalized.

But the hearing apparently did not produce the clean break Remy was publicly demanding.

According to reporting cited by The Shade Room, Angela Yee said Remy and Papoose appeared virtually for the proceeding, but their divorce was not resolved. Another hearing was expected as the former couple's lengthy separation continued through the courts.

Then Remy went back to work.

Hours after the court appearance, she appeared in the studio alongside powerhouse singer Keke Wyatt, where the pair previewed music apparently titled “Why I Get Married”—a particularly pointed title considering what had unfolded earlier in the day.

Remy and Claressa Are Going at It Again

The divorce proceedings arrived in the middle of another explosive exchange between Remy and Shields, who has been publicly dating Papoose.

The latest confrontation escalated after Remy appeared with professional boxers Amanda Serrano and Alycia Baumgardner, both prominent rivals of Shields.

Shields responded online by mocking the link-up and referring to the women as “3 loser” women joining forces against her. That opened the door for another round of insults between Shields and Remy.

Remy repeatedly emphasized one fact during the argument: despite Papoose's relationship with Shields, she remains legally married to him while their divorce is pending.

She then directed her frustration back toward Papoose, demanding that he sign the papers.

“SIGN THE PAPERS PAPURSE!” Remy wrote during one exchange, while also insisting that she did not want him back.

Shields pushed back, arguing that Papoose was the person who filed for divorce in the first place and accusing Remy of remaining fixated on their relationship.

Old DMs Become New Ammunition

The feud then reached further into the past.

Remy posted a screen recording showing previous Instagram messages between herself and Shields, attempting to counter the boxer's characterization of their history.

The messages reportedly stretched back years and showed a dramatically different relationship between the two women before Papoose became the center of their public feud.

In one exchange, Shields invited Remy to attend one of her fights. Remy responded enthusiastically and told Shields that her “Hubby” loved her, referring to Papoose.

Shields reacted positively to the message at the time.

Remy used the old conversations to argue that Shields had previously been friendly toward her before their relationship deteriorated.

The messages don't independently settle the competing accusations the women have made about one another, but they do provide additional context for just how dramatically their relationship changed.

The Divorce Remains Unfinished

At the center of all the social-media drama is a marriage that still has not legally ended.

Remy and Papoose were once regarded as one of hip-hop's most durable couples, particularly after Papoose publicly supported Remy throughout her years in prison. Their relationship eventually deteriorated amid competing allegations of infidelity, with both sides publicly accusing the other of being unfaithful.

Papoose subsequently entered a relationship with Shields.

Remy has also been publicly linked to battle rapper Eazy The Block Captain.

Yet the legal marriage between Remy and Papoose remains unresolved.

That is what made Remy's challenge before court more than another social-media jab. She was publicly telling her estranged husband that if his future is with Shields, he should complete the legal process ending their marriage.

For now, that hasn't happened.

And with Remy and Shields trading insults, old private messages resurfacing and Remy heading directly from divorce proceedings back into the studio, the separation that began as a private marital breakdown continues to play out as one of hip-hop's most public relationship battles.
