Drake is adding another mysterious piece to his “FOMO” rollout, this time through a collaboration with hip-hop journalist and YouTube creator What’s The Dirt.
As speculation continues to build around what Drake has been teasing as “FOMO 2026,” the Toronto rapper teamed up with What’s The Dirt for a giveaway featuring personalized care packages filled with exclusive merchandise connected to Drake’s world.
Images shared online showed packages containing a mixture of Nike, NOCTA and OVO merchandise, with some items appearing to be customized specifically for the recipients.
The unusual giveaway immediately caught fans’ attention because it arrived in the middle of Drake’s increasingly cryptic promotion for “FOMO,” short for “Fear of Missing Out.”
Rather than formally announcing an album, release date or even explaining exactly what FOMO is, Drake has spent weeks leaving clues across social media and allowing fans to piece together their own theories.
The care packages are now being treated as another possible clue.
Drake Sends Personalized Packages Through What’s The Dirt
What’s The Dirt, known for his lengthy breakdowns of rap lyrics, beefs and major moments in hip-hop, revealed his connection to the giveaway as fans began sharing images of the packages they received.
One package was accompanied by a personal message from Drake, further fueling interest in the collaboration. Online discussion surrounding the giveaway quickly shifted from the merchandise itself to whether the phrase “care package” could carry a deeper meaning.
Drake released Care Package in 2019, compiling previously released songs and fan favorites that had never received a traditional streaming release.
That history has prompted some fans to theorize that the new giveaway could be hinting toward another compilation-style release. Others believe the packages are simply part of the broader FOMO promotional campaign.
At this stage, neither interpretation has been confirmed. The connection to Care Package remains a fan theory rather than an announced project.
The ‘FOMO 2026’ Clues Keep Building
Drake has been deliberately vague about FOMO.
On Aug. 12, he posted a collection of vintage family photographs to Instagram with the caption “FOMO 2026,” reviving a phrase that had already appeared in his social-media activity.
Days later, he pushed the mystery further by posting a black-and-white image of what appeared to be a CD jewel case bearing the words “FEAR OF MISSING OUT.”
The post was accompanied by a movie-camera emoji but offered no explanation.
The CD imagery naturally led some fans to believe Drake was teasing another music release, while the camera emoji fueled theories about a visual project. Others have speculated about a documentary, tour announcement or another installment of his Scary Hours series.
None of those theories has been officially confirmed.
There also does not appear to be a publicly identified trademark or released song registered under “FOMO” or “Fear of Missing Out” that definitively establishes what Drake is preparing.
Exclusive NOCTA Gear Adds to the Mystery
The merchandise itself fits naturally into Drake’s increasingly interconnected ecosystem of music, fashion and exclusive experiences.
NOCTA, his collaborative line with Nike, has become a major extension of the OVO brand. Earlier this summer, Drake hosted another edition of NOCTA Manor, an invite-only retreat where guests received exclusive merchandise and custom Nike products unavailable through normal retail channels.
Sending similarly exclusive items through the What’s The Dirt giveaway gives Drake another way to generate attention around FOMO without explaining the project directly.
It also plays directly into the meaning of the phrase itself.
A rollout built around rare merchandise, one-of-one packages, cryptic posts and limited access naturally creates exactly what “Fear of Missing Out” describes: fans watching closely because they don't know when the next clue—or exclusive item—might appear.
For now, Drake is keeping the biggest question unanswered.
“FOMO 2026” is clearly becoming part of a coordinated rollout, but whether Fear of Missing Out ultimately refers to an album, compilation, visual project or something entirely different remains unclear.
The custom What’s The Dirt care packages have only given fans another clue to dissect.
