Travis Scott may be preparing his return to the gaming world—and all signs are pointing toward Grand Theft Auto VI.

The Houston rapper sent GTA fans into detective mode after posting mysterious artwork Tuesday, Sept. 15, accompanied by a direct tag to Rockstar Games and a message teasing what he called his “return to game.”

“Phase 1,” Scott began, before writing that his return would have to come with “RAGE AND ALOT OF DANCING.”

He ended the message with another clue: “J… O. H….. to be continued. See yall soon @rockstargames.”

Scott did not explicitly write “GTA 6” in the Instagram caption, but there isn't much mystery about the world he appears to be teasing.

The accompanying image depicts a woman's purple heels wrapped around a stripper pole in artwork closely resembling Grand Theft Auto VI's promotional style. Scott separately posted “VI” on X alongside eye emojis, further strengthening the apparent connection to Rockstar's upcoming game.

What remains unclear is exactly what Travis Scott is doing with Rockstar.

What Does “J… O. H…..” Mean?

One of the biggest clues may be hiding in three letters.

Fans quickly interpreted “J… O. H…..” as a reference to Jack of Hearts, a strip club located inside the world of GTA VI.

That interpretation would also explain Scott's reference to “a lot of dancing” and the stripper-pole artwork accompanying his announcement. Jack of Hearts has already been established as a location connected to GTA VI character Boobie Ike.

Still, neither Scott nor Rockstar has explained what the reference means.

It could point toward music associated with the club, an in-game radio station, a larger Travis Scott appearance or something else entirely.

At this stage, those possibilities remain speculation.

Travis Isn't the Only Artist Teasing Something

The biggest indication that this is part of a larger Rockstar rollout is that Scott wasn't alone.

Future, Metro Boomin, Morgan Wallen, Yung Lean, Rauw Alejandro, Keith Richards and several other artists shared GTA-styled artwork around the same time, fueling speculation that Rockstar was beginning to reveal some of the musicians involved with GTA VI.

Future's Freebandz account shared artwork featuring a sports car carrying a Leonida license plate, while other artists posted GTA-style images involving yachts, swimming pools and other scenes associated with the game's Florida-inspired setting.

The coordinated timing makes Scott's post particularly difficult to dismiss as an unrelated tease.

What it does not establish, however, is the exact nature of his involvement.

Grand Theft Auto has historically used major musicians in several different ways. Artists can simply have songs included on radio stations, but celebrities have also served as station hosts and appeared directly within Rockstar's games.

Dr. Dre, for example, became an actual character in GTA Online's The Contract expansion, which revolved around recovering his stolen unreleased music.

That history leaves several possibilities open for Scott.

A Return to Gaming Would Make Sense

Scott's wording about his “return to game” is notable because this wouldn't be his first major crossover with the gaming industry.

His 2020 Astronomical event in Fortnite became one of the most prominent artist-video game collaborations of its era, turning Scott into a giant virtual performer while millions of players experienced a surreal concert inside the game.

A Rockstar collaboration would put him inside another of gaming's biggest franchises.

And Scott's emphasis on “RAGE” makes the potential partnership especially fitting with the high-energy identity he has built around his music and live performances.

But exactly how much of Travis Scott players will see—or hear—inside GTA VI remains the unanswered question.

For now, the evidence points strongly toward some form of collaboration: GTA-styled artwork, a direct Rockstar Games tag, an apparent reference to an established location inside the game and a wider wave of similar posts from major musicians.

Scott himself offered the most important clue at the end of the announcement.

“To be continued.”
