The FBI told a Dallas federal court that Gucci Mane gave a statement to police about the alleged January 10, 2026 robbery and kidnapping at a North Dallas recording studio.
The detail came out on April 8 during Pooh Shiesty’s first detention hearing. FBI Special Agent Pamela Hanson testified that most of the government’s early account came from what Gucci Mane and the other alleged victims told Dallas police after Gucci’s security called officers to the scene that night.
Hanson said the FBI itself had not yet interviewed Gucci or the other alleged victims at the time of the hearing, but those interviews were scheduled. She also said investigators did not have the contract Pooh Shiesty is accused of forcing Gucci to sign, or a video of the signing, during that first court appearance.
According to the agent’s testimony, Gucci told his security to put their guns down and said they were outnumbered after the group allegedly took over the studio.
Prosecutors say Pooh Shiesty, whose legal name is Lontrell Williams Jr., set up the meeting to talk about his 1017 Records deal, then pulled an AK-style pistol and forced Gucci Mane, whose legal name is Radric Davis, to sign a release from the label. They allege the group then robbed Gucci and others of jewelry, watches, and cash.
Williams has pleaded not guilty. A judge denied him bond that day and has kept him in custody since. His trial is set for February 22, 2027.
Gucci later addressed the situation in the song “Crash Dummy,” rapping that he thought it was a business meeting and it was a setup. He has not issued a long public statement outside of music.
