Wiz Khalifa Has Been Added to Romanian Police’s Wanted List After Receiving a 9-Month Sentence in Prison for Smoking Marijuana on Stage in 2024
Cameron Jibril Thomaz. That is the name on Politia Romana’s wanted page.
July 13, 2024, Beach, Please! Festival, Costinești, Constanța County. Police said he smoked on stage and was found with more than 18 grams of cannabis. He posted the same night that he did not mean disrespect, that they were respectful, that they let him go. He is a U.S. citizen. He went home.
Romania criminalizes personal cannabis. Range on the books: three months to two years, or a fine. April 2025, a Constanța county court gave him the fine — 3,600 lei, about $830. Prosecutors appealed. December 18, 2025, the Constanța Court of Appeal swapped the fine for nine months in custody. In absentia. The written reasons called the onstage smoke an ostentatious act in front of a young festival crowd and a message that normalized illegal conduct. Final, they said then.
He kept working. Gunna date in California the same week as the December ruling. Home streams. The High Court of Cassation and Justice later closed the last Romanian door — coverage puts a May 7, 2026 rejection of the remaining challenge, and Constanța already had refused to suspend execution. No surrender. May 20, 2026, Romanian outlets (Digi24 via Romania Insider, Universul.net) reported the national wanted listing for enforcement of the drug-possession sentence.
A domestic wanted list is an arrest warrant looking for a body inside Romania and a flag for cooperation if he lands in a place that will listen. EU travel is the realistic risk corridor: a European arrest warrant is a tool they can ask for. The United States is not Romania. Extradition for a short cannabis-possession term is a political and treaty question, not a boarding-pass scan. AP said in December it was unclear whether Bucharest would even file. As of the May listing, they had at least put the name in the drawer they use when someone does not walk in.
This is not a U.S. conviction. It is not a life sentence. It is a final foreign custody order the defendant did not begin. Rolling Loud and a Black Sea statute do not use the same measuring tape. He apologized in 2024 and treated it as a slapped wrist. The appeals court treated it as a stage.
If he stays out of Romania and off any warrant that a partner country honors, the nine months is a PDF. If he flies through the wrong airport, it becomes a holding cell and a lawyer on two continents. That is the whole wanted list. No need to glamorize the joint or the chase. The festival happened. The fine happened. The upgrade happened. The list happened because he did not show up to serve it.
